    1. I’m very interested to see how you justify the well-documented practice of redlining as a “myth.” Please, explain.

    2. Yes! Redlining ended over 60 years ago with the passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Housing anti-discrimination laws were further strengthened when the fair Housing Act was passed in 1968. Landlords can be fined $10,000 for refusing to rent to someone based on their race, ethnicity, sex, etc. etc. It’s time to put that straw man argument to bed! It’s true that some landlords are dirtbags, but most are not, just as not all tenants are angels either. Most landlords want to avoid going to court for an eviction. If the tenant has been a good tenant, any landlord with a brain would try to work with them. Evictions are a last resort because of the hassle and the expense.

The point of all this is, if this foundation that nobody’s ever heard of really wanted to help people, they should leave the Marxist claptrap behind. Instead of looking for racism under every rock, they could make grants to groups that teach people financial literacy, or fund job trading programs, maybe sponsor literacy programs for those who need that. They could make loans or grants to mom and pop landlords (not big corporations) to help them fix up their rental homes. Homeowners too, for that matter. Programs like these would make a difference in people’s lives. Looking for a racist behind every tree will not.

  1. As a mortgage loan officer I can assure you that there is no such thing as redlining. The ONLY thing considered are the assets, income and credit rating of an individual and the appraised value of the property. This bogus report alleges racism that is baked into all of our systems but, of course, gives no actual evidence or incidence of the alleged racism. The report is a waste of money and the IF will continue spinning in circles chasing their fantasy of ridding the world of systemic racism.
