That would take a financial investment in education in this country that Republicans simply have no interest in making. They’re too busy rewarding the voucher advocates who donate to their campaigns … educational outcomes be damned.

Those voucher advocates, and I’m one of them, want to get rid of the horrible “public education” establishment which puts educating kids last!!
Those who scrimp and scrape to give their kids a chance in a good private school pay for your corrupt educational establishment’s grip on the poorest of kids!
My kids got a terrible experience in private schools that I paid for out of my own pocket and I put them in public schools, which have been far better for both of them and didn’t discriminate based on gender or learning disability.
If private schools do it better, why not mandate those best practices since Republicans have a firm grasp on education in this state and have for almost two decades now? Why take the “whatever goes” approach like Indiana does, which leads to terrible schools going for several years and schools sometimes closing in the middle of the year and leaving kids with no schools? Or leads to virtual schools stealing $88 million from the state of Indiana because the oversight is so lax?
I”m sorry but while I disagree with Trump on most things, getting rid of the H-1B visas is long overdue. I worked in the outsourcing industry for most of my career and can tell you I saw many many qualified Americans lose their jobs to cheaper Indian workers some even having to train their replacements before they were fired. These are not landscaping jobs that many Americans don’t want but relatively high paying whitecollar jobs that require unique skills. We have plenty of qualified people to fill those jobs in the country now. We do not need to import them. This is a pure and simple money grab by the Tech Bro oligarchs who now appear to be running the country.
He’s not going to get rid of H1B visas, just like how he’s not going to actually lower any prices or he’s not actually going to do anything except make himself and his fellow oligarchs rich.
