LOL this column is hilarious. Braun is as lazy as it gets. He’s quitting after one term in the Senate, where he routinely fell into the 75th-90th percentile of Senators who missed votes over the six years he was in office. He’s been effectively absent from the Senate since October 2023. He wrote 67 bills and only five made it to the President’s desk. Braun wasted time, paper, and wasn’t willing to do the work to negotiate and get things done.
He’s introduced and “walked back” his property tax proposal no less than three times. He has yet to present a proposal that actually addresses the issue around property taxes, housing costs, etc. So far, everything just gives a big tax breaks to giant corporate property owners and guts municipal budgets.
On top of all that, he’s been loaning his campaign money with interest and paying himself back at a profit. Braun just wants to abuse our state’s paper-thin campaign finance laws to make himself more money and then give himself and his buddies a tax break. Everyone else is on their own.
