What ails Jill?

If any governor were vulnerable to a strong challenge in a re-election campaign, it should have been Mitch Daniels, who has
made a lot of Hoosiers mad by pushing daylight saving time, leasing the Indiana Toll Road and in general shaking things up.

Instead, a new poll shows Daniels sitting on a wide lead over
his Democratic challenger, Jill Long Thompson.

The Howey-Gauge Poll, taken the day after Barack Obamaâ??s acceptance speech at the Democratic National Convention and hours
after John McCain announced Sarah Palin as his running mate, has Daniels ahead of Thompson 53 percent to 35 percent.

Thompson still isnâ??t well known. Only three of four respondents knew who she is â?? even after coming from behind to beat architect
Jim Schellinger in a bitter primary election.

Why isnâ??t she getting traction?
