It’s time for Colts, fans to pay up

I read [Bill Benner’s] column dated Feb 9. I appreciate your support regarding Lucas Oil Stadium. I agree 100 percent that Jim Irsay should step up to the plate and that ticket holders should be taxed.

I was unhappy that another (2-percent) tax was added to the food and beverage business. My restaurants lie outside the downtown area and actually see a decrease in sales when the Colts play.

I have to give credit to Jim Irsay: He has a business that he makes a lot of money on and the taxpayers are responsible for his physical plant. That would be like me having a business and not paying rent, utilities and maintenance.
