Lugar column sparks policy questions

Sen. Lugar, although I think of myself as conservative, I disagree with you on some points [in your May 23 Forefront column]. I do not see the creation of wealth as a moral imperative but as a by-product of leading a moral life. You mentioned opposing the overreach of the EPA. That is a pretty broad statement and I would like some examples. I feel that by protecting our environment our health is being protected.

I do oppose “stimulus” public spending, but then I am comfortably retired. Were I unemployed and responsible for a family, I might feel otherwise.
