It would be extremely helpful to know the date of your death. You can always make assumptions based on your current savings, current tax rates, expected rates of return, etc. but it would be really helpful to know if I was planning for a 5-10-15, or 20 year horizon, since I am already retired.
For younger workers, I wouldn’t even consider anything other than a Roth. For a 20+ year outlook, I don’t see any downside to going with a Roth, assuming the current tax rates stay in effect. Live below your means, pay yourself first.
Strangely, this article seemed to focus more on Roth conversions more than the actual advantage of a Roth, which is how it started out. That is actually, and should be, two separate discussions.
