Drive north on I-65 to Fowler and look at those wind turbines. Does anybody want to live near that disgusting mess? Put a wind turbine in the parking lot next to the statehouse, then we can discuss whether they should be in my backyard out in the country in Hendricks County. And stop talking about “$50 billion in data center projects.” Those will generate just a few million for construction of the buildings – the rest of that money is going to purchase servers which are not made in Indiana (and maybe not even in the U.S.).
And require very little staff to maintain them.

Intracounty commerce is to Indiana what interstae commerce is to the United States. No county should have the power to kill any project that spans two or more counties. The state government should be able to determine what is in the best interest for the all Hoosiers.

Set up a commission solely for multi-county project approval. Could be a 9 member board w/ 6 “standing” seats and up to 3 to be filled by a county commissioner from each county. (If more than 4 counties then those counties choose the 3). Though the state appointed majority would likely have the ultimate call, it brings the counties as voting members into the decision making process. And if the counties don’t like the way they see the decision going they can raise holy hell.
