Lucky are we that Mitch Daniels is helping Purdue return to the premier, student-centered university it once was. For Sheila Kennedy [Aug. 25 column] to be critical of a man who has halted the disgusting, out-of-control costs of higher education is nothing more than a poorly veiled attempt to keep the status quo. The bloated ranks of overly compensated, inefficient and self-serving, tenured profs, are the problem.
