That seems like a leap coming from a small suburban city to the head of Indy’s DMD. In recent years Indy has made some great changes to zoning to allow more urbanization. A major philosophical shift is also reflected in the city’s complete streets initiative. I hope she’s on board with this and how different urban Indy is different from the suburbs.
There is absolutely no reason to believe she wouldn’t be. Where you start doesn’t reflect your values.
The DMD director really doesn’t have a lot to do with actual development beyond the mega-projects.
For the day-to-day stuff, the civil service professional staff has significant influence.
I’m curious what she did before she got the government gig to qualify her for this.
