Salesforce.org on Thursday announced it was giving a $1.15 million grant to the Indianapolis Public Schools Education Foundation and the Ivy Tech Foundation.

The donation will be used to support career-development programs at Indianapolis Public Schools and Ivy Tech Community College.

Salesforce.org—the philanthropic arm of tech firm Salesforce—didn’t specify exactly how the grant would be divided. Both organizations have been past recipients of Salesforce.org grants.

The IPS grant is expected to support three pilot programs designed to increase principal effectiveness, improve new teachers’ transition to the classroom, and strengthen the support that district staff provides to individual schools.

The Ivy Tech grant will help IT students receive tailored career development support, including career coaching, soft skill training, tutoring, work-and-learn experiences, employer networking opportunities and designated lab space.

Salesforce.org said it has given more than $2 million to IPS, Ivy Tech and the Techpoint Foundation for Youth.

Salesforce has more than 2,000 employees in Indianapolis.
