When retired interior design planner Jim O'Neil saw the space at 757 Massachusetts Ave. while it was still under construction, he decided to turn two condos into one penthouse with more than 5,000 square feet.

Focus Gallery

The former Ford factory has most recently been used by Indianapolis Public Schools for storage. It bought the building from battery maker P.R. Mallory Co. in 1979.

The color palette of Joe Shoemaker's home is almost entirely white, chrome and the browns of leather and wood.

Built over two years as a Works Progress Administration project, the building opened in 1938 as the Indianapolis Naval Reserve Armory.

Anton ''Tony'' Hulman Jr. in 1946, the year he reopened the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. He inherited Hulman and Co. when his father, seen in the portrait, died in 1942.

Republican presidential hopeful Donald Trump made his first campaign appearance in Indianapolis on April 20 at a rally at the Indiana State Fairgrounds.

The Nature Conservancy's $8.8 million headquarters has a variety of eco-friendly features, including a water system that captures rainwater to flush toilets. The project, which opened in 2011, received LEED platinum certification.

By design

Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church at 414 W. Vermont St. has served the black community at its current location for nearly 150 years.

Downtown landmark

The 8,500-square-foot Italianate house in the Old Northside neighborhood was built in 1873 by owner/architect Anthon Gerstner.

Majestic and modern

The 39,000-square-foot courthouse on the square in Noblesville was built in 1879.
