Mariah Brown is committed to bridging science and business. After earning her undergraduate degree in chemistry, with a concentration in pre-pharmacy, she went on to earn her MBA. In 2020, Eli Lilly and Co. hired Brown as a participant in a rotational program that allowed her to gain research experience spanning from discovery to development. She transitioned from that to Lilly Genetic Medicine and served as a senior chemist, contributing to lab-based research. Currently, she sits on the legal team as a senior associate focusing on patent competitive intelligence and insights research. “What I enjoy most about my job is that it allows me to fulfill my ‘why’ by helping people,” she said. Brown has received the Lilly Research Laboratories President’s Award, which is awarded to individuals or teams who have demonstrated exceptional scientific innovation, leadership and impact on advancing drug discovery and development.•
