  1. And the “Ghost Mayor” says what? When the fragile tourism/convention industry collapses, what will the downtown be then?
    Joe….. Joe…. anybody home?

    1. Richard is right. Hogsett is the worst mayor in our city’s history and has done irreparable damage to downtown Indy. He’s a total empty suit.

    2. What does the mayor have to do with a visiting celebrity attacking a delivery driver and getting stabbed for it? Do you people even hear yourselves?

    3. Interesting to see the response from the Trade Associations who are monitoring crime in Indy before they book their Trade Shows.

    1. And it sounds like the food delivery driver was lying when he was confronted by a former football player too drunk to even remember where he parked his car.?!?

  2. Michael N. – regardless of what happened are YOU hearing yourself? Quick question – do you think Hogsett’s been a good Mayor for our city?

    1. How is the mayor’s leadership germane to an article about a visitor to the city stabbing a delivery driver?

    2. On one hand, Indianapolis hasn’t had a good mayor in decades. On the other hand, the State of Indiana has been increasingly hostile towards the idea that Indianapolis is even allowed to govern itself – so what do we expect?

    3. And, Hogsett has what to do with a grown-a*** man getting drunk and acting a fool?

Oh, that’s right, nothing. If you have an issue with the Mayor—vote, attend a City-County Council meeting, run for office—you know *do* something. No one here cares, or even can, do anything about it. But, I guess being performative is easier than actually doing something.

    4. Its become widely obvious in recent years that none of our political leaders in this country have to be good, they only have to be elected.

    1. How exactly is a multi-millionaire sport analyst choosing to get drunk and start a fight an example of how the “city burns?'”

Have we given up on the concept of personal responsibility, or only in the case of drunk Fox News spots analysts?

Nothing is “burning” Gregg, except Sanchez’s television career. Here is a hint: As a grown adult man, don’t get drunk and act a fool and attack someone.

    1. That is my point exactly, he hides behind his employees, he is not present/visible in the public unless it is a safe photo op.
He has stated over and over how safe downtown is (through his “news bites”) I really don’t care who is at fault here in this situation, It is a crime committed in downtown Indianapolis.
      Safety for all.

    2. Let’s be nice folks. Hogsett had a very busy week. He had to sign that Jim Beam……. I mean the Signia hotel beam. And he’s going to get us a MLS team any day now.

    3. Why do you want a strong man mayor who pretends that he alone can fix problems that have been brewing for decades? You people want a show, not governance.

    4. Robert, your comment makes no sense. I don’t know what a “strong man mayor is” or what “you people” are.
The reason people are commenting about Hogsett is because he laughably felt the need to release a statement. And yes, he and his buddy Mears will probably let the criminal walk, after getting his autograph

  3. I only came here to the comment section to see what the woke libs had to say. But +1 to the guy who said Mears will do nothing. He’s worthless like his boss.

  4. I apologize, crime by visitors doesn’t count. Indy Go is a model for all cities. Traffic calming turning all streets into two lane gridlock will save lives. Oh and I almost forgot, all new construction in the city should be a minimum of forty stories with little to no allocation for parking.
I hope I have covered all the topics where I have offended.
I guess freedom of speech/opinions is only if the reader agrees with the commentary.

Everything is coming up roses in the circle city.

    1. And people around the state of Indiana can’t wait to flee where they live and move to the Indianapolis area, because that’s where the jobs and good schools are.

Legislators know that and they can’t do anything but pass legislation telling Indianapolis what not to do, because they know they can’t compete.

  5. The statement from Fox Sports is everything you need to know about “journalism”

“ our drunken entitled employee attacked a guy working in the middle of the night to support himself, but we are asking for thoughts, prayers, and privacy for our drunken entitled employee”

Could you possibly be more tone deaf

  6. Agree with Chuck, I have mixed feelings about politics on both sides, but this ex-professional football player is an over served, bully that attacked then pursued a man more than twice his age who was trying to make a meager living. I hope our prosecutor throws this jerk into jail and that he loses his job.
