  1. I used to think how much difference could this make? As I Boy Scout, I have attended summer camp at Camp Ransburg on Lake Monroe for the last 30 years. BSA owns 1500 acres of heavily wooded land around the lake. Over 50 years, little forestry management had been done. A few years ago, they hired a forester to do some management. The first year after they cleared out overgrowth and removed trash tree, I was horrified. It seemed like they had stripped to much growth. Two years later, I was amazed. I saw more wildlife than I had ever seen before. I had never even seen a deer near any of the camp sights before. Forestry management is essential to a healthy balances ecosystem.
