Jeffersonville is across the Ohio River from Louisville.
The company, which manufactures filters under the brands Purolator, Air Technologies, Airguard Industries and ATI, will invest $8.5 million to lease and equip a 450,000-square-foot building that will house its headquarters and manufacturing and distribution center. The structure is under construction in the city's River Ridge Commerce Center.
The Indiana Economic Development Corp. offered Clarcor as much as $3.6 million in performance-based tax credits and up to $200,000 in training grants based on job creation. The city of Jeffersonville will provide property tax abatements.
Clarcor plans to move into the building next year and will begin hiring employees before construction is complete. The company is a subsidiary of publicly traded Clarcor Inc., which is headquartered in the Nashville, Tenn., suburb of Franklin.
Jeffersonville's commerce center is home to more than 30 companies that employ more than 2,000 people.
