The 500 Festival announced today that Donald Lipski, a nationally known artist whose work graces public buildings and plazas throughout the country, is creating a $300,000 sculpture for Celebration Plaza in White River State Park downtown.
The sculpture will honor the Festival’s 50 years of celebrating the Indianapolis 500 Mile Race.
Site development begins today, and a dedication is planned Dec. 2.
