Aearo Technologies Inc., an Indianapolis company acquired nearly a year ago by 3M, plans to expand its operation in the northern Indiana town of Plymouth.
The 25,000-square-foot expansion in Heritage Industrial Park is projected to result in 54 jobs in addition to the 90 now working in Plymouth.
The manufacturer of goggles, earplugs and other safety equipment is shifting work from an Oklahoma plant, the Indiana Economic Development Corp. said yesterday.
Aearo received commitments from the state of as much as $350,000 in performance-based tax credits and up to $60,000 in training grants.
3M, headquartered in St. Paul, Minn., bought Aearo from British private equity firm Permira.
