Republican Gov. Mitch Daniels will be staying in the Statehouse for a second term.
The Associated Press declared Daniels, a former Eli Lilly and Co. executive, the winner over Democrat Jill Long Thompson at 7:05 p.m.
Thompson, a former U.S. representative from northern Indiana, was running close to Daniels as of this summer, but polls shows Daniels’ lead widening in recent months.
