Think tank names WellPoint strategist as director

December 11, 2008
Daphne Clark, whose roles at WellPoint Inc. have included serving as chief of staff to CEO Angela Braly, has been tapped to direct the Medical Technology Leadership Forum.

The forum is the not-for-profit think tank that's moving this month from Minneapolis to the Indiana University Research and Technology Corp. campus on Indianapolis' downtown canal. From its new headquarters, it will continue its work generating dialogue on public policy issues of interest to the medical device and medical technology industries.

Clark replaces Susan Foote Bartlett, a University of Minnesota professor who is retiring.

At WellPoint, Clarke led corporate strategic planning, and developed strategy for communications, public affairs and corporate social responsibility. Prior to WellPoint, she consulted to business, government and not-for-profit groups.
