Nurse who died being tested for swine flu

November 2, 2009

An Evansville hospital is awaiting tests to confirm whether a nurse who died was ill with the H1N1 flu. Danna Fortune, 53, died Friday, more than a week after being admitted to St. Mary’s Medical Center with flu-like symptoms. Fortune was a nurse in the hospital’s neonatal intensive care unit. A hospital representative says there are no indications Fortune had been in contact with any patients hospitalized with the virus, also known as swine flu. Fox59 will have more at 4 p.m.
