Indiana Chamber offers tech courses, some free for small firms

The Indiana Chamber of Commerce and Ready Indiana are offering new technology courses, with full scholarships available for some small businesses.

The new E-Learning Services includes a variety of distance-learning training designed to improve employee skills and company productivity. Scholarships are available to Indiana businesses with 50 employees or fewer. Ready Indiana, a local technical-assistance organization funded by Lilly Endowment Inc., will review applications and select recipients on a first-come, first-served basis.

Scholarships are available for the following training:

• Business package: include professional and software skills, such as leadership, Office 2007 and project management. The regular price for this package, which features more than 700 courses, is $249.

• Technical package: includes more than 2,000 courses in Microsoft, CompTIA, Cisco, Java and Oracle certifications and competencies. Regular price: $749.
