Arson investigators are trying to figure out what started a fire at the abandoned Indy East Motel in the 5800 block of
East Washington Street early Tuesday morning. When they arrived on the scene, crews found a burning mattress in one of the
hallways and fast-spreading flames. The fire was contained in just a short time. There were no reports of injuries.
