Engine maker Cummins Inc. said the head of its engine business is leaving his role in March to pursue other projects at
the company.

A successor to Jim Kelly, who joined the Columbus, Ind., company in 1976 and was promoted to president
of the engine business in 2005, will be named "in the very near future," Cummins said.

Kelly has been a Cummins vice president since 1993 and has served as plant manager at two manufacturing
operations during his time with the company.

"For nearly five years he has effectively led the [engine] business
during a period of both record growth and the most difficult recession in decades," Cummins President
Tom Linebarger said in a prepared statement.

Kelly announced plans to retire earlier this
year, Linebarger said, but decided to stay with the company "a while longer in order to help us
tackle some important … initiatives."

Shares of Cummins fell 45 cents Tuesday to close
at $46.11.
