Grant to help city green up for Super Bowl

March 5, 2010

Not-for-profit Keep Indianapolis Beautiful has been given a $10,000 dollar grant from the Alliance for Community Trees and the Home Depot Foundation to help with its “2,012 by 2012” tree-planting initiative. The money will help the organization plant 2,012 trees on the near east side in time for the 2012 Super Bowl at Lucas Oil stadium. The plan is part of a bigger goal in which the group hopes to plant 100,000 trees in the next seven years.
