Jailed dead woman concealed meth

March 15, 2010

Stephanie Braasch, an Argos woman who died last week in her St. Joseph County Jail cell, had three plastic bags containing methamphetamine inside her body, an autopsy has found. Braasch, 23, had been booked into the South Bend jail March 7 on suspicion of a drug offense, but was never formally charged. The St. Joseph County Prosecutor's office said the bags found in her vaginal cavity were broken and leaking. The coroner's office has not determined a cause of death, pending completion of toxicology tests.
