IU honoring Ryan White's legacy

April 9, 2010

It has been 20 years since Ryan White passed away from the AIDS virus. Indiana University in Bloomington will mark the anniversary Friday with a ceremony honoring his life and an announcement about a special scholarship in his name. White became the national poster child for HIV/AIDS in the United States after he contracted HIV at age 13 from a tainted blood transfusion. He died April 8, 1990, just four months before he was to begin his freshman year at IU. Fox59 will have more at 4 p.m.
