April 30, 2010

Former Indianapolis Mayor Stephen Goldsmith is expected to be named deputy mayor of New York City, the New York Observer reported Friday morning.

New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg was set to make the announcement at a morning news conference.

Goldsmith, 64, was Indianapolis' mayor from 1992 to 2000. He will replace Ed Skyler, 36, who is leaving the post to join Citigroup as executive vice president of global public affairs.
