Andrew Walker II started working for a Chicago entrepreneur at age 14 and always had a side business or was involved in sales. After finishing his master’s, he took a job with Angi Inc., where he became a top sales representative and manager. There, he met his business partner, Leen Dhillon, and they decided to get into construction. They pooled their finances and created The Heartland Builders.
Proud moment in your career? “We do right by our clients, our contractors, our staff and our vendors.”
What have you learned about yourself since you joined the workforce? “The humility you must have in every scenario. I’ve learned how deep you will have to dig within yourself to continue to climb each day because the vision is bigger than the present moment, good or bad.”
Where do you see yourself in 10 years? “Having one of the most established construction companies in the country.”
