Ivy Tech Community College says it has set a statewide enrollment record for the summer semester.

Enrollment during the period rose 17 percent, to more than 57,000 students as of Monday, the first day of the summer semester.

Marketing director Kelly Hauflaire says the latest figure compares with nearly 49,000 students for the summer semester last

Ivy Tech enrollment has more than doubled from fewer than 72,000 students 10 years ago to more than 150,000 today.
