Police arrest 3 for holding woman captive

An anonymous tip may have saved the life of a 65-year-old woman who was discovered locked inside a small room in Anderson. According to police, someone contacted the Madison County Prosecutor’s office, saying a woman with dementia was locked in a room without food or access to a restroom. The caller also said her captors were cashing the woman’s Social Security checks and stealing her prescriptions. Police found Anna Turner in deplorable conditions. The officer who found her said she weighed just 85 pounds and had cuts all over her body. Officers arrested three people in the home: Luigi Amalfitano, 45, his son Louis Amalfitano, 20, and Louis’ 21-year-old girlfriend, Stephanie Cole. Child Protective Services also took custody of three children in the home. Fox59 will have more at 4 p.m.
