Blake Pieroni competed in three Olympic games for the United States, won four medals and was the first person to break 1:30 in the 200-yard freestyle (1:29.63). In 2021, he retired from swimming and was looking to join a small, fast-growing real estate company. He connected with Spencer Gray and started as an intern at Gray Capital in January 2022. As head of investor relations, he’s responsible for communicating with investors, raising equity for real estate projects, creating and sending monthly and quarterly reports, issuing distributions, and managing tax-related documents. “I like the people I work with and the fact that we are a small and nimble team,” he said. “I also enjoy the fast-paced nature of the work.” Among his achievements was helping to raise $28 million in five weeks for a real estate project in Indianapolis. Also this year, he helped launch a $150 million fund.•
