Camp Atterbury to remain training ground

June 1, 2010

A central Indiana training ground for troops will not be affected by U.S. defense budget cuts. In fact, Camp Atterbury will be just one of three mobilization centers left in the nation after several others are closed. Units being deployed overseas will pass through Camp Atterbury for years to come, according to the head of the Indiana National Guard. The camp was chosen to remain open because of its central location.
