IU Summer Music Festival

You can call it a festival if you want. Or you can call it a mini-season packed with loads and loads of concerts. However you label it, there are lots of choices for music fans of all stripes in Bloomington this summer. Highlights include the USA International Harp Competition (July 10-17), the Sara Caswell Jazz Quartet (June 30), Time for Three (July 6), 10 piano recitals, the Festival Orchestra conducted by Zian Zhang (July 1), Lawrence Renes (July 22) and Giancarlo Guerrero (Aug. 5) and much more. This year’s headliner: Angela Brown in a program titled “Opera from a Sistah’s Point of View.” It all kicks off with a June 19 concert by Menahem Pressler. Details here.
