West Nile virus reported in Marion County

This year’s first human cases of West Nile virus in Indiana have been confirmed, with one in Indianapolis and one in Fort Wayne, according to the Indiana State Department of Health. Since 2002, Marion County has recorded a total of 22 human cases and five human deaths from the virus. In 2010, 31 counties in Indiana have had mosquitoes test positive for the virus.
