Indiana's high school class of 2010 saw its average overall SAT score drop slightly due to lower math and reading scores.

The College Board results released Monday show Indiana's average score on the reading portion of the college entrance exam was 494 out of a possible 800. That's down from 496 last year.

Average math scores dropped to 505 from last year's 507. Scores on the test's writing portion rose from 480 in 2009 to 483 this year.

Indiana's combined score on the three portions of the exam was 1,482 out of a possible 2,400 points. Nationally, the average was 1,509.

Nearly 46,000 students took the SAT this year in Indiana.
