Brightpoint Inc. said board member James W.P. Reid-Anderson has resigned after being selected last week to become chairman, president and CEO of amusement park operator Six Flags Entertainment Corp.

Reid-Anderson will be replaced on Brightpoint's board by John F. Levy, the Indianapolis-based cell phone distributor said late Wednesday.

Levy is the CEO of New Jersey consulting firm Board Advisory and serves as non-executive chairman of the board of New York-based Applied Minerals Inc., a materials company focused on specialty clays.

Dallas-based Six Flags named Reid-Anderson to lead the amusement park company on Friday. The company emerged from bankruptcy protection on April 30. It had sought protection in June 2009, burdened by high debt and declining park attendance by economically strapped consumers.
