Daniels: No word on White House run until April

Republican Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels says politicians thinking about the next election in 2012 should "stifle" themselves for a while.

Daniels says there's plenty of work to be done in the legislative session and says he won't make any comments about a possible White House bid until at least April when the session ends.

Reporters asked Daniels Thursday about Indiana Republican Rep. Mike Pence, who is stepping down from a House leadership position as he considers his future. Pence has been named as a possible presidential or gubernatorial candidate in 2012, and Daniels says he's a great guy.

But Daniels is asking anyone thinking of running for office in 2012 to be quiet it about it for the next several months and focus on current duties.
