A hospital is planning to build a new outpatient medical campus with an emergency room in a growing area of south suburban Indianapolis.
Attorney Stephen Huddleston says St. Francis Hospital and Health Centers expects to start construction of the $20 million project along Indiana 37 near Greenwood in the spring.
Huddleston tells the Daily Journal that the center could have 400 full- and part-time workers, including doctors, nurses, laboratory technicians and medical personnel. Plans are to have it open by fall 2012.
St. Francis also plans to lease office space to general physicians and medical specialists, such as obstetricians and gynecologists. St. Francis currently has two hospitals on the south side of Indianapolis.
