Fishburn assailant to stay in jail

January 13, 2011

The man convicted of shooting an Indianapolis police officer will stay behind bars after the Indiana Court of Appeals denied Brian Reese’s attempt to appeal.  Reese was sentenced to 59 years in prison for shooting officer Jason Fishburn in 2008. Judges on the panel rejected Reese’s claims that prosecutors failed to prove their case. Fishburn is back on the job, but suffers from partial paralysis as a result of the shooting.
