Subscribe NowAn Indianapolis police officer was in critical condition at Wishard Hospital Monday morning after being shot twice in the head during a traffic stop on the northeast side Sunday morning. Police said they have captured the man responsible for the crime. Police believe the suspect, 60-year-old Thomas Hardy, also robbed a Dollar General store in the 1800 block of South Emerson Avenue less than an hour after the shooting. Hardy has a long list of prison convictions for theft, battery and drug possession dating back to at least 1984.
