Colts cut ties with Bob Sanders

Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay said Friday via his Twitter account that the team has released often-injured safety Bob Sanders. Sanders has been with the team for seven years and won the 2007 NFL Defensive Player of the Year award, but has played in only nine games over the past three seasons. He still had two years on a $37.5 million contract he signed in December 2007.
