Lawrence North student arrested after carjacking

A 17-year-old Lawrence North High School sophomore was arrested Thursday, accused of a carjacking. Police say a woman called 911 around 6:30 a.m. and reported a young man had stolen her car in the 7100 block of Kingswood Court. Officers located the car about 15 minutes later at Lawrence North. Officers took the 17-year-old into custody. Police say no weapon was used in the carjacking. The victim, who was in his 40s or 50s, wasn’t injured. Police say alcohol or a medical condition may have been a factor in the incident.
