On a seasonally adjusted basis, the pace of mortgage loan activity increased 2.7 percent for the week ended March 18, according to the Mortgage Bankers Association. The rate for 30-year mortgages increased to 4.80 percent from 4.79 percent the previous week. The rate for 15-year mortgages fell to 4.02 percent from 4.03 percent.
