J.C. Penny Co. says it's closing a warehouse in Plainfield next year, eliminating the jobs of the 230 people who work there.

A Penney spokesman says the Plano, Texas-based retailer will help those losing their jobs to look for new work as the September 2012 closing gets closer.

Tim Lyons says the closing decision was tough "because of all the people who work there."

The warehouse is near Indianapolis International Airport and opened in 2002.
