IU adds ‘green’ program
The green movement in real estate has led to a new course of study at Indiana University’s School of Public and Environmental Affairs in Bloomington.
Students seeking a master’s degree in public affairs can now pursue an academic concentration in sustainable development. SPEA faculty believe it’s the first such concentration offered in a university public affairs program.
“There is widespread interest in sustainable development, not just on this campus, but in every community,” Karen Hanson, the IU Bloomington provost, said in a statement.
Professor John Mikesell, director of SPEA’s master of public affairs program, developed the new program. It will require students to complete 18 credit hours in courses ranging from natural resource management to geographic information systems.
