Carmel banker takes Martinsville post for Harris
Chicago-based Harris Bank has appointed a Carmel banker to head its branch in Martinsville.
Mary Ann Smerdel has taken the post of branch manager for the office at 2110 Burton Lane, the bank said. Smerdel was a commercial customer service representative in Carmel and previously held positions at Cleveland-based KeyBank and Bank One, which is now part of New York-based JP Morgan Chase.
Harris acquired the Martinsville branch as part of its 2007 purchase of Kokomo-based First National Bank & Trust.
