High fuel costs boost firm
Casting Technologies Co., which makes lighter automotive parts that improve vehicles’ fuel efficiency, will expand this summer and add 40 new employees as part of its most recent $3 million expansion. It is the company’s second expansion in a year.
The company, which employs 110 at its 183,000-square-foot plant on Musicland Drive, will begin adding jobs later this year that start at $16 an hour, company officials said.
Casting Technologies, which was founded in Franklin in 1995, manufactures air bag housing units, air-conditioning components and suspension parts.
