Motorcycle team expanding in Brownsburg-again
In 2004, Indiana convinced Vance & Hines Motorsports Inc. to move its motorcycle racing team from California to Brownsburg. The National Hot Rod Association Pro Stock team moved into an 18,000-square-foot facility whose central location made traveling to races easier and made it more convenient to return to the shop to tweak equipment between races.
Last year, the company expanded into manufacturing, using its race-circuit expertise to offer exhaust parts, chains and wheels to the consumer market. It added another 22,000-square-foot building for the manufacturing and grew to 41 employees.
Now it’s building again, adding a $4 million, 66,000-square-foot shell building that Vice President Paul Langley said should be ready in December.
Company leaders haven’t decided what will go in the new space, but they have several product ideas ready to launch.
“In order to take advantage of the opportunities out there, you have to have the infrastructure in place,” Langley said.
