Fighter invading Mount Comfort
No, the U.S. Navy’s Blue Angels will not be headlining the Indianapolis Air Show next month.
Though the fan favorite won’t be on hand for the event Aug. 22-24 at Mount Comfort Airport, organizers hope a demonstration of the still-rare F-22 Raptor will keep attendance above the usual 100,000 mark.
The Air Force’s stealthy F-22 produces more thrust than any current fighter engine, allowing it to cruise at supersonic speeds.
This year’s show also includes demonstrations of historic military aircraft. Proceeds go to the Central Indiana Community Foundation.
